Computational Epidemiology Research Fellow at Healthmap

Maimuna (Maia) is a computational epidemiology research fellow at HealthMap and is an Engineering Systems PhD student at MIT. Her research interests involve probabilistic modeling, Bayesian statistics, and “systems epidemiology” in the context of emerging infectious diseases. Maia also enjoys exploring novel techniques for data procurement, writing about data for the general public, and creating meaningful data visualizations.

Maia received her BS in Engineering Science and a Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Tufts University. She is currently an Engineering Systems PhD student at MIT.
